....Sometimes you have to learn how to lose before you're ready to win. It's all in this facinating book I'm reading.
Kryten:
Oh, what's it called sir?

It Is What It Is

Five words that can help you come to terms with the confusion of life.

So I was catching up with my friends mum over coffee and we got to discussing life and such and how crazy it was. She told me about her catchphrase of “it is what it is” and when you stop and think about it, it makes sense.
Life is confusing, random and illogical. You can try to make sense of it at times but in the end you will just end up more confused than when you started. Life is, what it is. You can’t tell how things are gonna go, what’s waiting around the corner or what it’s gonna throw at you next. So instead of getting confused about it, take a step back and realise that’s just life. It works in mysterious ways and often doesn’t make sense.
It is what it is.

I have an aunt who has the same last name as you and lives in the state, we're probably related.
Friend 2:
Well your brother was friends with my brother, you were friends with my bf and I used to always hang out with your cousin in primary school. I think I also know where you live!
Me:
...guys I'm flattered but it's not a competition
